With Lois’s support, Congressional Democrats passed, and President Biden signed, the largest investment in our history in clean energy and combatting climate change. This once-in-a-generation funding will significantly increase green energy production, provide incentives to buy electric vehicles and energy efficient appliances, create a nationwide network for charging stations, and reduce carbon emissions. Independent analysis shows that this legislation should reduce US greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent below 2005 levels by 2030.
From her position on the Appropriations Committee, Lois worked to include the highest amount of Everglades restoration funding in history in this year’s federal budget and will continue to advocate for more funding to protect our water supply.
