Lois Frankel On the Issues

Gun Violence Prevention

Lois Frankel believes that protecting families from gun violence requires both strong laws and meaningful community action. In Congress, she supported the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and has backed measures to strengthen background checks, keep firearms away from dangerous individuals, combat illegal gun trafficking, and expand access to mental health resources. She continues to advocate for additional commonsense reforms, including banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, promoting secure firearm storage, and expanding the use of extreme risk protection orders.

Lois has also worked closely with gun violence prevention advocates to build support for policies that make communities safer while respecting responsible gun ownership, repeatedly earning the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction.
