Having served on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Lois has worked to pass major plans to benefit South Florida. The Water Resources Reform and Development Act, for example, was a bipartisan effort that created millions of jobs and billions of dollars in economic impact across the country, and authorized Everglades restoration projects.

Lois knows that future infrastructure programs have to include COVID-19 relief, climate change efforts, and increasing public transportation. In July, Lois cosponsored and voted for the Moving Forward Act, which is a bold and ambitious infrastructure plan that invests $1.5 trillion to rebuild and modernize our roads and bridges, invest in public transportation, modernize our energy grid to promote clean energy, increase highway safety, invest in future technologies like battery charging stations and hydrogen fuel cell research, rebuild our schools, expand high speed internet, and improve hospitals and health care infrastructure.
