Lois is grateful to all those who have served to protect our country and freedoms. While her son Ben, who served as a Marine in Iraq and Afghanistan, returned home safely, she knows that many have made many sacrifices. Lois has worked to ensure Veterans have all the support they need when they return home, including proper health care, education, and more. She was a proud supporter of the PACT Act, which drastically expanded VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances.
Through her position on the Appropriations Committee, she has funded a program that creates Veteran student centers on campuses across the country. These centers help Veterans with their GI benefits, tutoring, and other support.
